NEW SINGLE - All The White Horses - FREE DOWNLOAD!

Emily Smart & The Clever Girls released their brand new single ‘All the White Horses’ at Jive on Saturday 25th September, which is now available for FREE DOWNLOAD from www.emilysmart.com.au

Special guests The Timbers and Courtney Robb did a fantastic job warming up the enthusiastic crowd, and then Emily hit the stage with The Clever Girls and performed a selection of her songs, along with her new single, ‘All the White Horses’.
Her debut film clip for the single was also given it’s first showing on the night, and can now be viewed by the public from her website under the videos section or on Youtube.

Emily will be on tour throughout October to promote her new single thanks to the Australia Council.

EMILY SMART LAUNCHES NEW SINGLE

Emily Smart & The Clever Girls launched their brand new single You & I at the marvellous Spiegeltent on March 3rd, as part of the 2010 Adelaide Fringe Festival.

Opened by the lovely Canadian songstress Ann Vriend, the night started off with a punch, showing off of Ann’s powerful vocal and song writing talent. Emily soon joined Ann on stage to sing in harmony together for Ann’s final song before the audience bid her farewell.

Then the Clever Girls took to the stage, featuring Hamish Cox on keys, Felicity Freeman on percussion & backing vocals, Matt Nikic on bass, Benny Smith on drums, and fronted by Emily, they began playing tunes from Emily’s upcoming album, including the single tracks You & I, The Sea and Matty Groves.

A magical night was had by all, so thankyou to everyone who was involved in
organising and attending the event, without you it wouldn"t have been the same.

EP Launch Reflections

There was great music, there was drama, there was drinking, there was helium balloons, there were people dressed like dolls, there was lolly bags and there was great times had by all!! Yes... I"m talking about the Launch of my debut EP "The Escape Plan" on Feb 10th @ JIVE. I couldn’t have asked for a better night really, especially since I’d had basically lost my voice with sickness for the days leading up to the launch and then miraculously it returned in full form around lunchtime on Saturday - JUST IN TIME!

I was overwhelmed with the support on the night, with around 150 lovely people rocking up and being merry, it was great to see. Cookie Baker was first up with her infectious voice and then the amazingly understated Nadjeska pulled out some jazz/pop numbers that blew everyone away... Then of course, I hit the stage with my 6 piece band and the room was simply buzzing from where I was standing! So I’d like to thank everyone who came along to support me and made it such a great night... especially the ones who got and up danced!
